Scholarship Requirements
Candidates who meet the following criteria may apply for the scholarship:
Female or Male under the age of 21 as of December 31, 2025
High School senior who has been accepted to an accredited college or university
The candidate must have at least a 2.8 GPA (83%+)
Involvement in community service or volunteer work
STUDENTS MUST SUBMIT
Two to three (2 -3) Letters of Recommendation from a community leader, teacher, guidance counselor, or other school official, a pastor, or a leader of a nonprofit organization.
A typewritten essay of 300 – 500 words. Respond to either A or B of the following prompts:
A. Respond to the following quote: “The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today” (H. Jackson Brown, Jr.). Use your own detailed personal experiences as the basis for your essay.
B. Respond to the following quote: “Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration” (Thomas Edison).
SCHOOL OFFICIALS MUST SUBMIT
An Official Transcript. The transcript should include SAT scores and Regents scores (if applicable), as well as the GPA for the first term of your senior year. This MUST be sent by a school official.
Proof of Family Income by submitting one of the following:
FAFSA Award Letter
Verification that the student received a fee waiver for either the SAT or ACT
Verification that the student is eligible for Free/Reduced Lunch
DEADLINE: March 1st
The completed application, official transcripts, and supporting documents must be received by March 1, 2026.
Grounds for Disqualification: Recipients will be disqualified if any of the following conditions occur: (1) False information was provided on the application; (2) If the recipient is in high school, he/she fails to graduate by June 2026; and (3) Recipient is not enrolled in an accredited college by fall 2026. NOTE: Acknowledgement letters will only be sent to candidates selected to receive a scholarship.
